Atlantic Health System is seeking a Telecommunications Operator. Shift is Sunday 11A-7P, Monday 2P-10P and Friday 11A-7P.


Essential Job Functions:

  • The Telecommunications Operator will work in a Call Center environment, processing incoming and outgoing calls and ensuring customer resolution and satisfaction.
  • Requirements for this position will be to handle a high volume of calls with the capability of responding to all types of emergencies, via telephone, in relation to the hospital emergency codes that are called in by various departments.
  • The Operator will be responsible for all long range/in house paging, all overhead paging and the processing of emergency codes.
  • The hours for this position are as followed. Each 3-day work week: Sunday 11AM - 7:00PM @ Newton Medical Center, Monday 2:00PM - 10:00PM @ Chilton Medical Center and Friday 11:00AM - 7:00PM @ Newton Medical Center. Repeats following week.


Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma is required. Some college preferred.


Related Experience:

  • Candidate must have experience in a Call Center environment or the equivalent in a high volume office environment.
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication and customer service skills as demonstrated by previous work experience.
  • Must be able to talk and type simultaneously, to be demonstrated via a typing test.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare environment and workflow preferred.
  • Must have experience with the following: Microsoft Office Word, Excel and general computer skills
