Overview

NewtonMedical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System,is seeking aFT Lead Pharmacist. Shift varies. Weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Maintains smooth operations and workflow in techology and computer related issues.
  • Supervision of Staff: supervises the dispensing of all medications, cart fill, cabinet based dispensing functions and ensuring clean room procedures are maintained.
  • Coordinates all pharmacy personnel scheduling to provide 24 hour service. This includes creative problem solving and rearrangement of positions during short staff situations. Actual staffing as resolution is the last resort.
  • Actively participates in annual evaluations and works with employees throughout the year handling performance and discipline issues.
  • Provides continual training and cross training to employees on new job functions and technology.
  • Informs staff of new and/or upcoming programs and promotes participation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrates knowledge of standards and regulations and maintains proper documentation.
  • Assures readiness with all regulatory agencies and compliance with department, hospital, and AHS policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the documentation, implementation, and monitoring of medication and patient safety initiatives.
  • Functions as a staff Pharmacist, supports and actively participates in department and AHS initiatives.
  • Assists with department financial management activities.
  • Seeks opportunities to work independently on projects and takes on new responsibilities

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

 

Required License:

  • Current active registration and licensure with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.

 

Certifications:

  • Two (+) years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent supervisory and teaching skills.
