  • Overview

    Pediatric GI, part of Atlantic Medical Group, currently has an opening for an RN interested in working with the Pediatric GI research team.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

     

    DEVELOPS AND IMPLEMENTS CLINICAL RESEARCH:

    • Promotes and markets interest in clinical research projects to physicians and surrounding non-medical
      community
    • Sets realistic enrollment targets and works actively to establish and maintain effective screening and recruitment
      strategies to reach these targets
    • Adheres to the principals of Good Clinical Practice and FDA rules when participating in and documenting the
      informed consent process
    • Establishes and maintains Study Regulatory File in compliance with GCP and FDA guidelines
    • Prepares protocols for IRB submission and maintains appropriate IRB correspondence for ongoing protocols
    • Performs intensive protocol review and facilitates accurate study budget with OGR
    • Establishes mechanism for capturing and reporting adverse events
    • Prepares and files adverse event reports in accordance with internal SOP's, sponsor and FDA mandated
      guidelines
    • Provides accurate clinical data for research patients through Case Report Form completion with appropriate

    ACTS AS LIAISON WITH STUDY SPONSORS, GRANTS AND RESEARCH AND CLINICAL DEPARTMENTS:

    • Coordinates research projects with ancillary hospital departments
    • Works cooperatively with other departments and physicians in scheduling clients for research required testing as
      with consideration of standard of care required procedures and/or testing
    • Attends appropriate research meetings monthly; inter and intra-departmental meetings and investigators
      meetings as needed
    • Communicates effectively and timely with study sponsors, principle investigators, peers and staff members, and
      all other healthcare providers as required
    • Conducts sponsor monitor visits, coordinates and participates with site initiation and evaluation visits and/or
      close out visits
    • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and cross covering within the department, across both campuses and will
      all clinical trials
    • Recognizes and accepts need to cover occasional evening, weekends and holidays as trial enrollment dictates or
      unit need arises. ls able to multitask while remaining focused and setting appropriate priorities that minimize or
      eliminate over time while maximizing internal and external stake holder satisfaction

    Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • BSN required

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Minimum five (5) years RN experience and BLS required
    • Clinical research and pediatric experience preferred
    • Excellent communication and time management skills to promote, market and maintain research projects
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with members of many multidisciplinary teams, attend meetings as appropriate 
    • Strong computer skills essential
