    Newton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to work in a Resource Nurse role for the Cardiac Telemetry unit Hussey 1 working 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, no weekends. 

    Responsibilities

    Essential Job Function:

    • The Resource Registered Nurse will be able to function as the Primary Nurse during the day-to-day activities of the assigned units including PRN medication administration: to relieve staff RN for breaks as assigned for the noted areas
      • Prioritize and multitask in timely and efficient manner within the scope of the nursing unit assigned
      • Provide patient with the guidelines for education for disease specific conditions
      • Provide call backs to patients after discharge to ensure a clear and concise understanding of discharge care instructions
      • Assist in Peer interview processes for onboarding new staff and assisting the Coordinator with day to day operations of the unit.
      • Support the department with process improvement developments
      • Clinical support as needed to the assigned unit to support volume surges
      • Promote integration of new equipment in the assigned unit
      • Maintain compliance with unit policies and procedures, joint commission standards
      • Responsible for organizing and overseeing the discharge and admissions for the assigned department
      • Must have the ability to delegate work assignments
      • Supports and contributes to unit/Dept meetings
      • Provides tasks to support the above areas by the delegation of the Nursing Coordinator/Charge RN
      • Attend shared governance meetings
      • Provide hourly rounding on designated unit the My Rounding Tool
      • Participate in the scheduling committee
      • Oversee the education compliance/orientation schedule for Nursing Assistants in the Nursing Resource Dept and assisting the unit Educator
      • Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served
      • Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families
      • Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job
      • Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • BSN Perferred

    License:

    • Valid New Jersey Registered Nurse License

    Certification:

    • BLS Required
    • ACLS Required
    • IV Certification
    • Basic Dsyrhythmia 

    Relevant Experience:

    • At least 3 years of Cardiac /Tele/Med/Surg experience of Registered Nurse experience in an Acute Care facility
