  • Overview

    The Director of Talent Management is responsible for leading the talent management strategy and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and design, implementation and evaluation of programs, tools and processes that facilitate improved organizational performance.  You will lead, develop and inspire a team of learning and development professionals to help grow the capabilities and careers of all team members in alignment with both our mission to build healthier communities and our Great Place to Work for All culture.


    Essential Functions:

    • Provide leadership for learning, organizational development, performance management, change management, workforce planning, succession planning and onboarding.
    • Develop and deliver the AHS talent management strategy for organizational and professional development. Collaborate with the Workforce Experience team to translate the current and future needs of AHS the strategy and practices.
    • Ensure the talent management strategy is supported by robust HR information systems that measures and tracks performance provides information about talented team members and their potential career paths across the system. Enable various departments to identify available talent when opportunities are made or arise.
    • Develop, enhance and evaluate current systems, tools, processes and communication strategies to support an effective performance management program including goal setting, development planning, mid-year performance discussions, talent assessments, and performance evaluations. Design and implement necessary modifications/changes to support a performance driven culture.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and deployment of change management efforts. Lead and provide change management support on various initiatives by equipping the Workforce Experience team and leaders to effectively lead their teams through change / increased capability.
    • Responsible for the identification of training/development needs for all levels of team members within AHS. Work closely with members of the HR leadership team to define plans and determine best practice training methods using internal experts and external consultants as well as the HR team members to assess needs for addressing skill-set deficiencies.
    • Lead Workforce Planning efforts and ensure appropriate learning & developments programs are in place do support AHS’ future workforce
    • Responsible for the design and implementation of the AHS leadership and provider development initiatives and programs and delivering functional coaching and training on the above mentioned
    • Responsible for the design and implementation of robust succession planning by proactively working with HR leadership, Workforce Experience, AHS leaders and team members to successfully develop both short and long term career/individual plans based on skill sets and job- readiness in order to support the overall talent pool objectives. Deploying succession planning, capability planning, mobility-led, critical experience career-pathing, career mapping and workforce planning – system-wide.
    • Ensure the relevance and cultural integration of the new team member orientation and onboarding process leveraging adult learning best practices.
    • Proactively work to integrate and embed Talent Management processes & programs with Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards.
    • Partner with the corporate Innovation and Transformation team to create learning experiences focused on innovation capabilities
    • Partner across HR in delivering exceptional service and an integrated team member experience.

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Business or a related field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Recent experience as Chief Learning Officer, organizational development/learning leader, or Human Resources leader required.
    • Experience creating and leading talent management core disciplines, management and leadership education/development and employee engagement required. Merger & acquisition and/or divestiture experience preferred.
    • DDI, PCC, PHR or SPHR certification preferred
