Overview

Primary Care at Union, part of Atlantic Medical Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the ambulatory practice functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician and reports to the Practice Clinical Supervisor or Practice Manager.

 

Essential Functions:

  • The CMA administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains an inventory of appropriate supplies
  • Ensures safe and efficient patient flow, tracks high-risk referrals and lab tests, facilitates safe transitions of care
  • Organizes the practice environment to assure patient safety and quality health outcomes, and contributes to designated quality measures. 
  • Hours are 9-5pm, with occasional late night 11am-7pm

Qualifications

Education of Certified Medical Assistant:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Qualifications/Requirements of Certified Medical Assistant:

  • MA certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA required
  • BLS required
  • MA experience in practice setting preferred
  • EMR experience desired
