Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking full-time, part-time, per diem Respiratory Therapists for the Respiratory Care Department at Chilton Medical Center, Hackettstown Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center, and Overlook Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Function:

  • Administering safe and competent respiratory care
  • Reviewing and communicating physician orders
  • Administering of medications
  • Performing patient assessments
  • Understanding implication of hemodynamic and pulse oximetry monitoring
  • Performing arterial blood punctures and analysis
  • Assisting with transport and monitoring of ventilated patients
  • Documenting therapeutic information in the patient’s medical record and on other forms
  • Assisting with lifting, rolling and proning of patients
  • Performing according to approved infection control policies and procedures
  • Working with the diagnostic teams is areas of bedside bronchoscopy and COPD education

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy program

License/Certification:

  • Must have an active NJ State respiratory care license
  • BLS certification
  • Must obtain and keep current certification in ACLS/PALS/NALS
  • Maintain professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences

Relevant Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills to work productively with patients, families, staff and co-workers
  • Can push, pull, lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Candidate must accept directives, maintain confidentiality, will not discriminate and will uphold the ethical standards of the profession; will support the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Organization
