Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Radiology Department at Newton Medical Center.
Ideal candidate will act as a patient navigator within the department of radiology and collaborate along with the department administration, physicians and clinical staff to follow policies and processes which deliver safe quality patient imaging standards while ensuring that the standards of Clinical Nursing practice at AHS are standardized and maintained throughout; candidate will work to represent the department at Shared Governance. Completes preprocedural assessment calls and protocoling of procedures along with department radiologists. Collaborates with hospital departments to schedule ancillary services such as anesthesia and pathology when necessary. Documents, cares for and recovers patient’s intra and post procedurally. Completes post-procedural calls to ensure patient status is maintained and questions are answered following discharge. Assists radiologists/interventionalist with consult and post procedural appointments. Maintains department medical supplies for procedures and establishes par levels for items. Works along with supervisor to prioritize daily procedures. Ensures nursing medications and code carts are checked. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient s chart. Appropriately identifies and initiates clinical pathways on identified patient populations.
