Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Pediatric Physiatrist for a  Division Chief role to lead our Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. The role will Report to the Chair of Pediatrics and CMO of Atlantic Medical Group with additional reporting to the Chair Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for clinical issues. This leadership position will have a combination of clinical and administrative duties .

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct outpatient care to pediatric patients with physiatry needs at Atlantic Health System hospitals and associated satellite locations.
  • Participate in inpatient consults and admissions for patients with pediatric Physiatry needs. Work collaboratively with physicians in pediatric critical care and inpatient floor.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary programs in Pediatrics including but not limited to Spasticity and Gait Center, AMPS program, Concussion program, Craniofacial program, Plagiocephaly programs, Special Care Infant Follow-Up Program, KidFIT and others.
  • Provide on-call coverage of Pediatric Physiatry service.
  • Provide timely communication with referring and collaborating physicians.
  • Elevate level of care provided to the pediatric population by ensuring current, evidence driven, therapeutic methods and standards are maintained.
  • Serve as department of pediatrics liaison with Rehabilitation Services in order to help further develop services.

Educational Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the medical education process for residents and medical students.
  • Give didactic lectures in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
  • Present periodic Grand Rounds.
  • Participate in continuing medical education courses, as appropriate.
  • Participate in community education and scientific programs as delegated.
  • The Physician shall participate in community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned to the Physician by the Hospital’s President.
  • The Physician shall use and endorse the use of all of the Hospital’s automated systems, as appropriate and achieve 90% utilization of CPOM.

Research:

  • Identify and encourage possible research projects with residents.

Outreach and Marketing:

  • Assist through personal, one-on-one communication with the pediatric community.
  • Present Grand Rounds at neighboring institutions.
  • Participate in expansion of Pediatric Physiatry services and development of satellite locations.
  • Participate in other departmental outreach activities.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain compliance with JCAHP and DOH requirements.
  • Participate in third party reimbursement plans as required by the Hospital and provide all necessary documentation for the purpose of billing for services rendered.
  • Document clinical care in a clear, concise, legible and timely fashion.
  • Submit billing in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Attend pediatric department and general pediatric divisional meetings.
  • Maintain current medical license, DEA and CDS number and Board Certification.
