Pharmacy Technician II, Pharmacy Department

Morristown Medical Center, a member of the Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician II to work from 8a-4p, no week-ends or holidays.


Job Function 01: Restock and organize the receiving area in preparation to receive the daily order.
Job Function 02: Assist buyer with putting away the morning order.
Job Function 03: Assist buyer with restocking shelves with new inventory, making sure to rotate the stock.
Job Function 04: Receive and restock afternoon specialty orders.
Job Function: 05. Replenishes emergency boxes and crash cart trays.
Job Function: 06. Fills medical labels for new orders and missing doses. Restocks work area. Restock supplies delivered on off shifts.
Job Function: 07. Sorts and returns medications to shelves and/or refrigerator.
Job Function: 08. Checks expiration dates when dispensing medications to pharmacists. Completes monthly inspections for expired medications.
Job Function: 09. Answers phone calls, triages phone calls, handles issues that are within the scope of their job.
Job Function: 10. Assists the pharmacists in whatever is needed and asked of them that is within the scope of their job function.
Job Function: 11. Attendance at staff meetings regularly. Participates in performance improvement initiatives with the department.
Job Function: 12. Supports the departmental goals as a team player by assisting staff members and being flexible in roles and responsibilities. Complies with departmental coverage guidelines. Actively supports the Atlantic Health strategic goals. Supports cross campus communications and sharing of best practices.



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • College courses desirable but not required.


Required License:

  • NJ BOP registration required



  • PTCB certification required or will obtain in 90 days

Related Experience:

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience (2+ years) preferred.
