Newton Medical Center, a member of the Atlantic Health System family, is seeking a per diem Patient Safety Technician in the Nurisng Resource Department. The shift will be 11p to 7a including 1 weekend shift per month.
To provide one to one observation for patients that are of high risk for self-harm, fall risk and who are risk of interruptions of medical necessities. The patient safety tech is responsible for assisting the patient to bathroom, meals and maintaining a safe environment. The PST is required to stay in the room with the patient and be within an arm's reach of the patient in the event of an emergency. The PST is also required to document on a flow sheet their observation time. The PST may also be required to maintain the patient video monitoring screen and communicate with the nursing team via vocera.
HS Diploma or equivalent
EMS, acute care or hospital experience preferred
