Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Infrastructure Manager to lead an extremely talented and dynamic Infrastructure Team. The Infrastructure team is responsible for envisioning, designing, and building our core technologies that support vital business functions. In addition, the Engineering team provides documentation and processes to handover to the team which will ultimately own the systems that have been created. This role will help guide the team to deliver high quality and high-performance systems and work with other managers to lead shared efforts.

 This position is responsible for the planning, designing, and implementation of all Infrastructure Technology components within the organization. This includes project management, daily operational management, customer service, staff skill development, recruitment and retention, and fiscal responsibility.

 Information Security is extremely important at Atlantic Health and as such, this position should be aware of the latest security vulnerabilities and ways of mitigating them within the context of the technical Infrastructure. The Engineering Manager will work very closely with the Information Security group to make sure all key facets of the Infrastructure are adhering to the latest Cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with senior management to develop and facilitate the technology strategy for the organization.
  • Manage a team of highly technical IT resources including a mix of employees and contractors.
  • Provide direction, instruction, guidance, and ensure the overall efficiency and effectiveness of IT Engineering team resources.
  • Ensure security of data, identity, network access, and backup systems.
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing infrastructure by creating, supporting, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
  • Be the "go-to" technical resource for any escalations from the team.
  • Be expected to take part in the designing and researching of future upgrade projects for the company.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Collaborate with peer managers to determine first-priority efforts and assign resources accordingly.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other engineering teams, data scientists, product owners, and stakeholders to improve the efficiency and reliability of our platform.
  • Advise on best practices for designing and architecting scalable solutions, including design reviews, code reviews, and onboarding new technologies.
  • Grow the technical expertise of the team around quality, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Work closely with the recruitment team to hire and onboard engineers.
  • Ensure the team consistently makes and meets commitments to deliver value.
  • Work with leadership to ensure that the team is appropriately staffed and has the correct scope.
  • Work with team members on career development by understanding their goals and helping them find stretch opportunities.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including team building, an interest in the development and promotion of staff, and the ability to recruit and retain staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree highly desirable.
  • Advanced certifications in current technology hardware, software, platforms and tools, e.g., cloud computing, networking, mail, storage, virtualization, security, scripting tools, database systems, mobile computing, internet.
  • 6+ years of cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, or IT engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining modern applications or data pipelines on hybrid and public clouds (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Oracle).
