Atlantic Health Systm is seeking a full-time Finance/Gift Processing Manager for the Development Office located at 475 South Street in Morristown NJ.


Reports to:  Director of Finance


Directly Supervises:  One full-time Gift Processing Associate


Position Overview: 


Responsible for the management and oversight of Gift Processing, with ownership of the core operations for the full life cycle of a gift including data entry, gift processing, gift acknowledgement, financial reporting, and database integrity.  The Manager is responsible for continuously enhancing workflows, policies and technology for processing and acknowledging gifts from all fundraising channels for over 10,000 gifts annually.  Will provide support to the Director of Finance in areas such as accounting, auditing, reporting, benchmarking, and special projects.




  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge NXT and all aspects of Gift Processing. Compliance with all Gift Processing and Gift Acceptance policies, as well as IRS guidelines.
  • Responsible for processing and providing works flows for all types of gifts, including cash, checks, credit cards, stock, donor advised funds, planned gifts, etc. from all fundraising channels.
  • Responsible for pledges; including identifying and writing off uncollectible pledges, reporting, reconciling, and sending out pledge reminders.
  • Works closely with the Finance Department.  Compiles and reconciles monthly and year-end revenue reports that interface with the General Ledger. 
  • Supports the DOF in meeting financial reporting requirements, including monthly revenue reports, campaign reports, fundraiser reports and department metrics; in addition will provide support for annual benchmarking surveys, community benefit reporting and other internal/external requests.
  • Collaborates with the DOF on the annual internal audit.
  • Collaborates with DOF on administering the Financial Oversight Committee (FOC) and the Investment Subcommittee (ISC).
  • Analysis and reconciliation of quarterly GAAP financial statements to internal foundation reports.
  • Helps maintain the ongoing quality and integrity of the data in Raiser’s Edge.  Performs monthly utility functions and updates to the database.
  • Reviews and tracks all new/existing vendors.  Manages the contract execution process.
  • Trains, supervises, and manages the Gift Processing Associate, ensuring adequate work assignments and workload.  Conducts annual review.
  • Oversee the documentation and ongoing enhancement of a library of standard operating procedures for gift processing and acknowledgement.  Creates procedures as new gift types/channels emerge.
  • Maintains expertise in industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Finance and Data Management (DOF) and Finance Department to identify opportunities for improved processes and reporting.
  • Supports and/or partners with the DOF on special projects as requested.
  • Ensures donor intent is being met and gift restrictions properly recorded.




  • Bachelor’s Degree required  - Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Four years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in the use of Raiser’s Edge CRM
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
