Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Research Nurse for the Neonatal Services at Morristown Medical Center. The shift is 8 am - 4 pm. This is a 37.5 hour per week position.  The Neonatal Research Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of investigator-initiated research and sponsored clinical trials within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

 

Responsibilities

  • Attends cooperative group meetings as necessary. 
  • Attends weekly Neonatology meetings and continuing education offered by AHS.
  • Employs practical approach to identifying educational needs regarding clinical research.
  • Assists in the design, determination of feasibility, interpretation, oversight and compliance studies involving patients in the NICU.  
  • Ensures training of all NICU staff and ancillary staff as appropriate.
  • Ensures study related activities are conducted per protocols ands SOPs.
  • Ensures the recruitment of subjects for study participation, coordinates screening of subjects and ensures inclusion and exclusion criteria are met.
  • Performs and oversees data collection and documentation in compliance with SOPs and GCPs.

Qualifications

Education

  • MA/MS required

Required Licenses:

  • Valid New Jersey Nursing License

Specialty Certification: Maintains CCRC credentials or demonstrates eligibility to acquire CCRC designation within 24 months of hire.

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Neonatal research experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical ability
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex and diverse information
  • Effective team player
