Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator.  This role will split time between Hackettstown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
  • Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Candidate will provide assistance with coverage of inpatient diabetes educator position at Newton Medical Center as needed.

 

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required 
  • BSN preferred

 

Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Diabetes Educator Certification required or willing to obtain within the first year of hire
  • Valid New Jersey Nursing License required
  • BLS Certification required
  • PA license required or willingness to obtain

 

Experience:

  • Experience with individual and/or group education in DSME required
  • Experience with insulin pumps, CGMs, and glycemic management preferred
  • Certified pump trainer preferred or willingness to be trained

 

Hours:

  • Full-Time: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, weekends as needed
