Atlantic Health System is seeking a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will be tasked with leading data analytics projects which aim to improve decision-making process to deliver even better care to our patients. The primary focus is on analyzing information from multiple healthcare data sources to identify trends and gain insights that give the company a competitive advantage. The Data Scientist will conduct appropriate analysis and communicate conclusions and recommendations to the organization's leadership. 


  • Work collaboratively with other data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts to design, implement and maintain data science models and applications.
  • Use advanced analytics and machine learning to solve business problems and find patterns and insights within structured and unstructured healthcare data.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of data science projects focusing on all aspects of data science, including data gathering and wrangling, exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling and machine learning.
  • Communicate findings and ideas to appropriate end-users and stakeholders.
  • Find and recommend new uses for existing data sources.
  • Design, modify, and build new data processes and complex data sets.
  • Train the data management team on new or updated procedures.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology and trends in healthcare field.
  • Perform other duties as required. 




Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or related field is required

Relevant Experience:

  • 2 years of post-graduate training or work experience involving quantitative data analysis strongly preferred; experience with healthcare data is preferred
  • Experience querying and manipulating data using SQL strongly preferred
  • Experience with Python or R strongly preferred
  • Experience using data visualization tools including: Tableau, Power BI, etc
  • Working familiarity with basic medical and healthcare information technologies and ontologies preferred
  • Hospital, other healthcare or insurance background is an advantage
