Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-time Assistant Manager of Repiratory Therapy for At-Home Medical to work M-F from 8:30am - 5pm, and on-call rotation which may include holiday and weekend days.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position:

 

The Assistant Manager of Respiratory Therapy (AHSIC) will provide clinical services, staff supervision, training and consultation services as a liaison between the clinical staff and the Manager of Clinical Services. Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interview, select and hire new team members and manages a team of Clinicians.
  • Actively participate in the training and competency of clinical staff including the scheduling of the department in-services, coaches, counsels and disciplines employees.
  • Participate in the coordination of client discharge process.
  • Manage the completion of client care assignments as prescribed by ordering physician.
  • Responsible for assisting in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and personnel activities to ensure the provision of quality service to meet the needs of those served by his/her area(s) of responsibility and scope of role.
  • Document the activities of the staff and department by locating, gathering, and recording relevant statistical data.
  • Assist staff in utilizing team approach in the provision and reimbursement of patient care
  • Educate clients and caregivers in the areas of equipment operation, cleaning, trouble-shooting and maintenance.
  • Assist in daily patient care/home visits including but not limited to: CPAP/VPAP, invasive/non-invasive ventilation, cough assists, Portable Oxygen Concentrator evaluation and other modalities associated with home respiratory therapy.

Supervisory Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and outline daily assignments of clinical staff.
  • Monitor compliance of the clinical staff to department policies and procedures.
  • Performs annual performance review with direct reports
  • Complete required continuing education units as required for state licensure.
  • Responsible for monitoring and approving PTO
  • Responsible for obtaining and completing payroll for direct reports
  • Monitor clinical competency and licensure completion for direct reports
  • Monitor that all requirements are met for invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
  • Assist in updating departmental Policy and Procedures as needed
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and all aspects of respiratory care, maintain good infection control procedures

 

Qualifications

Education:

 

  • Associates degree, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.  
  • State professional license to provide respiratory care/services to patients in our coverage area.

  • BLS – Basic Life Support Certification
  • RCP preferred, with extensive home-care experience.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years previous Respiratory Therapy experience
  • 1-2 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of State and Federal Regulations and accreditation standards pertaining to home health and is able to communicate the knowledge to staff.
  • Knowledge regarding home-care services and third party reimbursement.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, customer service, organizational, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Clean driving record.
