Overview

AHS is currently seeking a PD Mental Health Asst. at Overlook Medical Center, which is a member of the prestigious Atlantic Health System.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge & understanding of psychiatric disorders & patients.
• Use therapeutic communication skills in individual & group interactions with psychiatric patients.
• Initiate & deliver therapeutic activities & groups.
• Provide 1-to-1 interventions with patients.
• Crisis identification & management (including de-escalation).
• Assist nursing staff w/variety of tasks & activities.
• Communicate information to healthcare team members.
• Thorough, accurate, timely documentation of tasks & activities.
• Measure vital signs and perform phlebotomy, ECG, glucometer testing

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma required. College preferred.
Clinical Skills: Phlebotomy, ECG, glucometer and BLS certification preferred

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior healthcare experience in a health care setting is preferred.
