Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Medical Laboratory Scientist I for Morristown Medical Center in the Core Lab to work varied shifts including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position:

  • Perform testing in the laboratory and report results according to SOP
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
  • Perform quality control tasks and maintain laboratory documentation according to SOP
  • Maintain and manage laboratory inventory
  • Provide laboratory information to others on the patient care team
  • Maintain competencies and continuing education

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

  • Associate’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Foreign graduates require equivalency evaluation documentation
  • ASCP or equivalent certification preferred

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not necessary; new graduates welcome
