Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Health Educator to work within our corporate Health Services department at Morristown Medical Center. Working within the scope of a Certified Fitness Professional and under the general direction of the Atlantic Corporate Health department manager, health education coordinator and Occupational Health Medical Director is responsible for the coordination and implementation of fitness initiatives for the corporation.

 

Responsibilities

A. Analyze employee health data using a systems approach to in order to establish targeted population programming
B. Conduct needs assessments to inform fitness initiatives
C. Provide fitness program consultation, administrative and technical assistance to corporate benefits personnel
D. Instructs group exercise classes
E. Provide individual fitness evaluations
F. Provide individual exercise orientation
G. Provide individual exercise instruction
H. Provide personal training
I. Provide overviews, updates, statistics of such programs at regular intervals
J. Monitor each program to assure efficient and effective quality service
K. Monitor employee program outcomes to create compliance and improve health outcomes
L. Perform related duties as assigned
M. Stay up-to-date with health related issues as well as trends that are of concern to diverse employee populations

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in exercise/fitness related field

Requirements:

  • Maintain applicable certifications and licenses (e.g. tier one fitness certification—ACSM, NSCA, ACE)
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (M/CHES), preferred
  • CPR for Health Care Provider certification
  • Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle required

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Prefer experience directly related to essential functions
  • Work experience in a corporate worksite health promotion setting, knowledge of current health related issues as well as trends that are of concern to diverse employee populations
