Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a part-time Art therapist to work in the Crisis Department at Morristown Medical Center.

 

Days - M/T/TH

Hours - 5PM-10PM

Saturday or Sunday - Flexible

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include

  • Work with patients through the patient’s art and combine psychotherapeutic counseling techniques to promote personal development and understanding the role art can play in treatment. Help foster self-awareness and build coping skills.
  • Utilize art media, images and the creative art process to foster self-awareness, develop social skills, encourage problem solving, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
  • Understanding patient needs and objectives related to treatment planning and reasons for services.
    Provide a trusting, open, kindhearted atmosphere that encourages learning and participation.
  • Plan and prepare appropriate therapeutic art interventions, media and directives.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a realted field required

Education:

  • Must have a masters degree in Art Therapy

Qualifications:

  • 2 + years relevant clinical experience
