Atlantic Health Systm is seeking a full-time Foundation Director, Database Management for the Development Office located at 475 South Street in Morristown NJ.


Reports to: Chief Development Officer


Responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the fundraising tools and technology for Foundation for Morristown Medical Center. Position will be responsible for the administration, management and security of fundraising database. In the long term, position will assist with a project to align all Foundation databases.



  • Development of policies and procedures and the standardization of practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness of database operations.
  • Responsible for data integrity management and solutions. Ensures practices are in place to maintain quality data.  Responsible for maintenance, clean up and special projects as needed.
  • Analyzes data and supports the information needs of Foundation staff.
  • Support research and data mining efforts to help identify new prospects.
  • Develops reports and queries.
  • Responsible for database interfaces and providing support for data manipulation, imports and exports.
  • Training and development of staff. Provides resources as needed. Works with vendors to arrange ongoing education and staff support.
  • Manages vendor and Atlantic IT relationships and serves as liaison. Coordinates software testing and upgrades.
  • Assist in designing and executing a comprehensive campaign plan including coding, organizing, and recording information.
  • Undertake special projects at the request of Chief Development Officer including redesigning business processes, conducting peer benchmarking; preparing ad hoc and special reports; and other department initiatives.
  • Serve as a key member of the Foundation’s senior management team including participating in the development and implementation of policies, strategy, short- and long-term planning, and financial and operational goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and develop a committed, high performing work force with his/her direct reports that execute the mission and goals of the Foundation.
  • Responsible for managing system security and protocols.
  • Provides vision and develops future strategies.
  • Plans and proposes annual operating budget. Monitors expenses.



  • Excellent organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to the ethical use of information. Must adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and good computer skills
  • Willingness to travel outside the office within the hospital's regional service areas, and to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Strong leadership, self confidence and assertiveness, diplomacy, teamwork, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality
  • Ability to represent the Foundation to external audiences through the use of strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with senior hospital administrators and staff
  • Demonstrated project management, planning, facilitation, problem-solving and decision making experience
  • Excellent follow-up skills, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail


  • Bachelors or advanced degree required

Relevant Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in philanthropy database management
