Atlantic Medical Group, part of Atlantic Health System is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team in Morristown, NJ with availability to travel to Rockaway and Bridgewater office as needed. Hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm. Must be willing to work at multiple locations, Rockaway, Mt. Lakes, Randolph, and Morristown. 


Essential Functions:

  • The CMA will perform clinical as well as administrative functions; i.e. (vital signs, patient intake, room patients). Position will focus on procedure scheduling, reviewing patient questionnaires, authorizations/pre-certs. and performing fibroscan procedures - training will be provided
  • Schedules surgery services within the hospital to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions from the physician and hospital administrative policies. 

  • Coordinates all surgeries with physician schedules in office and hospital. 

  • Meets with patients to discuss available dates for surgery, PAT and answers any questions or concerns they have regarding the process. 

  • Obtains preauthorizations, verifies pts insurances and coordinates with Endo Suite. 

  • Maintains CMA licensure and BLS. 

  • Willingness to travel to other locations




  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program preferred


  • MA certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA required
  • Post externship experience preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License required as travel between sites may be requested

  • EMR experience desired

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Maintains CMA licensure and BLS.
