Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Medical Physicist Assistant for the Radiation Physics & Safety Department at Morristown Medical Center.  Primary coverage will be at Morristown Medical Center, with cross-coverage at other AHS faciities expected.  This position will report to the Manager/Chief Physicist.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing a QA/QC program that includes Physics testing of radiographic & fluoroscopic x-ray imaging devices consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Handling & distribution of radiation dosimetry for personnel.
  • Shipping & receiving of survey equipment for calibration & repair.
  • Assisting with shipping of radioactive QC sources.
  • Performing leaded apparel integrity checks.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • NJ Certification as Medical Physicist Assistant in Radiography & Fluoroscopy (or eligible within one year of employment).
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist or Radiation Therapist preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
