Overview

Newton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a Per Diem Food Service Rep.  Required hours vary,  including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Position would include working in a retail and patient services environment
  • Assembling and delivering meal trays for patients, restocking and rotation of items on workstations, collecting soiled dishes, scraping trays and washing, sanitizing and restocking flatware and silverware.
  • Removing trash from kitchen.
  • Some contact with patients in taking meal orders and delivering meal trays.
  • Monitors patient and retail food lines and test trays for quality, temperature and food safety.
  • Informing department leadership of any safety issues on units, cafeteria or in kitchen.
  • Restocks products for patient use on the tray line.
  • Responsible for maintaining the high standards of Newton medical Center in regards to appealing presentation and food preparation.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent required or will obtain within 2 years of employment.

Requirements:

  • Must be punctual, dependable and have strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to lift a box of 50 lbs, push a patient delivery cart containing 25 meal trays, be on feet for the majority of the shift, possess basic computer skills and be capable of learning hospital meal input system.
  • Possess a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
