Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Program Assistant to join the Adult Day Center of Somerset Hills 200 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Hours are flexible between 9:00am and 4:30pm. 1 or 2 days each week - no weekend.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide direct service to our clients including support for: activities of daily living, program activities, and other tasks assigned by the Adult Day Center Manager.
• Hands on assistance for clients’ personal care as needed.
• Treat clients with respect, kindness, and patience; helping to maintain clients’ dignity.
• Work with team to ensure safety of clients at all times.
• Interact with clients in a professional and positive manner.
• Assist clients who are unsteady with walking.
• Assist with activities and projects at the request of the Activities Coordinator.
• Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm, orderly flow of meal time experience for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Ability to work in a team setting
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to maintain client/family confidentiality
• Ability to handle crises in a calm and constructive manner
• Ability to assist clients with personal care and toileting when necessary

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education required

Relevant Experience:

• Previous nursing assistant or home health aide experience favored preferred
