Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Patient Care Technician I for the Cardiac Access/Cardiac Observation Unit at Morristwon Medical Center primarily from 6:00am-6:30pm twice a week with weekends as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions 

  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living.
  • Obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights, preparing patients for Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac OR procedures.
  • Assisting patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges, measuring and recording I & O; performing EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Observing and reporting changes in patients’ condition to the RN.
  • Helping to ensure a safe care environment.
  • Continuous rounding throughout shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
  • Ensuring patients and families have a positive patient experience by exhibiting PRIDE behaviors, rounding, collaboration, teamwork and a positive attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and have positive customer service skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Care Team

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

License/Certification:

  • BLS preferred; required within 3 months of hire

Relevant Experience:

  • 6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred
