Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Part Time Mobility Assistance Vehicle (MAV) Operator to work varied hours including weekends as required by department, part of Atlantic Ambulance. 

Responsibilities

  • The Atlantic Health System Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAV) is responsible for transporting patients in wheelchairs between medical facilities and/or to/from their respective residence in a professional and caring manner.
  • Proficiency in driving Mobility Assistance Vehicle - operates vehicle safely and professionally, in-compliance with all applicable laws and rules governing same.
  • MAV is responsible for safely securing patient in transport vehicle using harness straps in compliance with all standards.
  • Able to negotiate 1-2 steps/curbs while transporting patient without assistance.
  • Occasionally performs a patient stand pivot transfer from bed/chair to wheelchair.
  • Ensure all appropriate patient medical records accompany transports.
  • Decontaminate vehicle interior following transport to ensure infection prevention.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

License/Certifications:

  • Must be willing to obtain MAV, CPR and First Aid certifications upon hire
  • Valid driver’s license with unrestricted driving record required

Relevant Experience:

  • 1+ year of previous experience is a plus
