Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full Time Food Service Manager for the Food Service Department at Newton Medical Center. This person will plan, organize, and administer the clinical and non-clinical operational areas of the food and nutrition services provided for patients, team members, volunteers, and visitors in accordance with professional standards.


Essential Functions:

  • Supervise all clinical and non-clinical team members of the departments of Food and Nutrition.
  • Leads people toward meeting the organization’s vision, mission, and goals. 
  • Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts. 
  • Delegates assignments, clarifies expectations, and holds others accountable for achieving results related to their area of responsibility.
  • Encourages workforce engagement by building a commitment to excellence, and working collaboratively toward solutions that accomplish organizational goals.
  • Effectively recruits, selects, hires, coaches, and uses appropriate corrective actions with staff in accordance with AHS policies and procedures. 
  • Provides staff with accurate annual performance feedback, and encourages them to celebrate successes, express concerns, and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Implements strategies to improve team member satisfaction inclusive of strategies to involve team members in decision making.


  • Directs department operations on a continuous basis and advises management on operational and functional improvement opportunities.

  • Ensures that budget monitoring processes are in place and that appropriate action plans are established to address variances outside of established parameters.

  • Identifies and implements ways to reduce and control expenses as well as enhance revenues in the hospital and assigned areas.


  • Focuses staff on continuously building customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community, and other departments served.

  • Engages staff in continually raising the bar in service excellence.


  • Maintain familiarity with applicable rules, regulations, and accreditation issues.
  • Participates in activities designed to monitor and improve compliance.


Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
