Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technicians for Central Sterile Supply at Morristown Medical Center to work 11PM-7AM including every other weekend. 

Responsibilities

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for decontamination, prepping and packaging, and sterilization processes of all surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
  • Knowledge of a case care preparation system, surgical instruments, and the different methods of sterilization (steam, HLD, Hydrogen Peroxide).
  • Basic computer knowledge with an Instrument tracking system.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED 

Minimum Experience:

  • Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time, heavy lifting of surgical sets, pulling and pushing of sterilization transport carts and case carts. The technician must perform tasks quickly and efficiently, paying close attention to details and understanding the principles involved in each task performed.
  • The technician also performs a variety of duties to maintain infection control standards for the health and safety of hospital patients, medical staff, and personnel.
  • Two (2) years as a sterile processing technician preferred.
