Overview

Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Lab Assistant I for the Specimen Processing department at the Atlantic Consolidated Laboratory in Morris Plains to work 3pm-11pm including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Able to enter patient data into PowerPath.
  • Able to sort, triage and prioritize.
  • Able to meet shift, time deadlines.
  • Able to communicate clearly via email or phone.
  • Exhibit and demonstrates Atlantic Health's P.R.I.D.E. values and customer care.
  • Thorough in performing and rectifying matches to patient jars and requisitions.
  • Courteous to medical staff and coworkers.
  • Accession, label, and process laboratory specimens
  • Perform patient registration and order lab tests in computer
  • Answer phone calls for laboratory information
  • Produce lab reports, sort, and deliver
  • Pick up lab specimen in various hospital procedure areas
  • Process and pack lab specimens for transport

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Graduate/GED Required.
  • Associates degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 1-3 years laboratory experience preferred
